meterless Acceptable Use Policy

Version 1.4. Effective 7 October 2026. Part of the Terms of Service.

Paid subscriptions are not yet open. This policy applies to anyone who uses meterless, from the first time they do.

meterless gives you a private GPU studio. This policy says what you may not do with it. Most of it is what any reasonable person would expect, and it applies to every customer on every plan. The lists in it are examples, not a complete list, and the policy is read in line with its purpose.

Some rules below come from the data-centre suppliers whose hardware we run on, or from our payment provider. You do not choose where your studio runs, and it may move between suppliers, so a rule that applies on any of them applies on all of them. Those rules are conditions of the hardware and payments, not a judgment of your work.

1. Safety

Do not use the studio to make, store, share or seek:

A breach of this section leads to an immediate pause of your studio and, once a person has reviewed it, the closure of your account, and may be reported to the authorities.

2. Sexual, obscene and extreme content

Do not use the studio to make, store, serve or distribute sexually explicit, pornographic, obscene or indecent content of any kind, including nudity presented in a sexual way, or content depicting extreme or gratuitous violence, gore, torture or cruelty to people or animals. This applies to image, video and audio generation, model training or fine-tuning, and inference. Do not install or run tools, models or add-ons whose main purpose is to undress people, make nude images of real people, or produce sexual content.

This rule is a condition of the data-centre hardware meterless runs on. Our suppliers prohibit it on their machines, and because your studio may run on any of them, we cannot place this work anywhere.

3. Cryptocurrency and network abuse

Do not use the studio:

These are conditions of the data-centre hardware.

4. Other people's rights

Do not use the studio in a way that:

Your own face, body, voice and likeness are yours to use, within the rest of this policy.

Every model in the studio carries its own licence, linked on the model's page. Do not use a model in a way its licence forbids. Some model licences prohibit particular uses (for example, certain models may not be used for military, surveillance or biometric purposes, or to train a competing model); those prohibitions apply to you when you use that model. Where a model or tool runs on a third-party service, that service's usage policy also applies, and a breach of it is a breach of this policy.

5. Deception and civic harm

Do not use the studio to:

6. Law, honesty and payment

Do not use meterless:

We may suspend your account while a payment dispute about it is open.

7. Data you must not process

The studio is a personal studio and is not designed for sensitive data or for handling personal data for others. Do not use it to:

8. Security and fair use

Do not:

9. Weapons, military, export control and where you may not use meterless

Do not use the studio for the development, production or use of weapons of any kind; for military, defence or surveillance purposes; for anything relating to nuclear, chemical or biological weapons or to gain-of-function research; or for mission-critical systems where failure could endanger life.

Do not use the studio to pre-train a foundation model from scratch, or to run one training job across several studios or accounts; this is outside the intended use we have declared to our suppliers. Fine-tuning an existing model (for example with LoRA or DreamBooth) and training small models within your plan hours is permitted.

Do not use the studio to export, re-export or transfer software, technology or model weights, or to give anyone access to computing, in breach of export-control or sanctions law, or for an end use those laws prohibit.

You may not use meterless if any of these applies to you:

You may not use a VPN, proxy or false address to get around any of these rules. If one of these comes to apply to you and you did not hide it, we close your account as section 3 of the Terms says, and the closure is not treated as a breach.

10. How we enforce this

No person reads your files, prompts or outputs as a matter of course. To keep the service lawful and within our suppliers' rules, we may use automated checks: technical signals such as GPU, process and network activity, which we use to run the service and to detect mining, attacks and other breaches of this policy; checks of outputs made with the studio's built-in tools for sexually explicit content and child sexual abuse material; and matching of stored files against lists of known illegal material. A check that flags something leads to a review. We may review activity, including inputs, outputs and stored files, when an automated check, a report, a data-centre supplier, Paddle or an authority gives us reason to believe this policy or the law has been broken. A review goes no further than needed to check.

Depending on the breach we may warn you, remove content, pause your studio, suspend your account or close it. We may pause your studio or suspend your account at once and without notice where we reasonably suspect a breach of section 1, 2, 3, 6, 8 or 9, or any breach that the law, a data-centre supplier or Paddle requires us to stop, or that puts anyone at risk. A person reviews before an account is closed.

When we act on a breach, we tell you what we did, which rule it was under and why, unless the law prevents it, an authority or supplier asks us not to for an investigation, telling you would put someone at risk or help someone get around our checks, or the matter is plainly spam or fraud. You may ask us once, within six months of our decision, to look again; a person reviews it. Any suspension stays in place during the review, and the outcome is final, without affecting your rights at law.

If we close your account for a serious or repeated breach of this policy, you do not get back the rest of the month you have paid for or any unused top-up hours, except where the law gives you a right to a refund. No make-good applies to time your studio is paused or suspended for a breach. Section 13 of the Terms says what you pay us for loss a breach causes, including charges a supplier makes to us.

We may preserve your account, files and activity records, and pause any deletion of them, while we review a suspected breach, where an authority asks us to, or where we need them for a legal claim. We keep them only as long as that requires and the law allows.

We may report suspected illegal activity to the authorities and cooperate with them. We report apparent child sexual abuse material to the authorities the law names. We may give information about a breach, including content and account details, to the authorities, to the data-centre supplier whose hardware was involved, and to Paddle, as far as needed to stop the breach, meet a legal duty, or protect people or our service.

A data-centre supplier may also act on its own hardware against a breach of its rules, including by suspending the machine, acting against your studio directly, or examining the machine under its own rules. If a supplier acts against your studio and the breach was not yours, we move you and the make-good applies. If the breach was yours, we treat it as a breach of this policy.

To report abuse, illegal content or an infringement of your rights, email legal@meterless.com. We acknowledge reports that give contact details, assess them, and tell the reporter what we decided, without giving them the account holder's details. We close the accounts of repeat infringers in appropriate cases.

11. Changes

We may update this policy. If a change adds a restriction, we tell you by email at least 30 days before it applies to you. A change required by law, by a data-centre supplier's or Paddle's rules, or to deal with a new risk to safety or security, may apply as soon as we tell you, and we say why when we tell you. If such a change stops you doing something you were doing lawfully and in line with this policy, you may end your subscription within 30 days and we refund the unused part of your month. The version and date are at the top of the page; past versions are available on request.
